So I arose this morning confident in the sunny day and the state of my health only to learn that I have been using Listerine daily to gargle not knowing that it contains Poloxamer 407, an emulsifier that is health endangering. What? What, what? How could the FDA allow the marketing of such like products to the American public for human consumption knowing there is a danger or inherent risk leading up to, and including, death? Gargling is classed as consumption. Bye, bye... Listerine!
Poloxamer 407, the key ingredient in most mouthwashes, is a detergent. It causes bladder cancer in animals. Long term use of mouthwashes is associated with an increased risk of mouth and throat cancers. Listerine contains Poloxamer 407.
