Detroit - Praise 102.7

Effective this morning, Detroit has a new FM radio station, Praise 102.7, by Radio One. All praise to the creator as there is a beautiful new sound emanating from this city. Perhaps, united behind this new prayer wheel, we will now repent, turn from our wicked ways and God will accelerate the healing of this great land called Detroit.

Tower Heist - Trailer

An exciting new offering from Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller to be released Nov. 4, 2011.

Samuel Jackson named highest grossing actor of all-time!

It's like "heaven-on-earth."

DC Douglas' "Why #OccupyWallStreet? 4 Reasons."

Yes! I support OccupyWallStreet. It's time that the best interests of this great country are brought to the forefront of domestic planning. Radical corporate America has been acting in an "anti-USA" manner as if they are trying to destroy the country. Kudos to the protest movement. Things have gotten out-of-hand. After all, it was democratic ideals for which our fathers died, not freedom for corporate greed.

Veteran vs Brutality

Black veteran vs NYPD during OccupyWallStreet protests. AND, he is right!

"You Is Smart, You Is Kind, You Is Important"

One of my favorite scenes from, "The Help." Imagine how often this scenario was repeated in homes across America in the 40's, 50's and the 60's.

Toxic Smoothing Agents (emulsifiers) - In Foods, Vaccines, & Cosmetics

So I arose this morning confident in the sunny day and the state of my health only to learn that I have been using Listerine daily to gargle not knowing that it contains Poloxamer 407, an emulsifier that is health endangering. What? What, what? How could the FDA allow the marketing of such like products to the American public for human consumption knowing there is a danger or inherent risk leading up to, and including, death? Gargling is classed as consumption. Bye, bye... Listerine!

Poloxamer 407, the key ingredient in most mouthwashes, is a detergent. It causes bladder cancer in animals. Long term use of mouthwashes is associated with an increased risk of mouth and throat cancers. Listerine contains Poloxamer 407.

Fred Hammond / Commissioned

Remember when Marvin Sapp was a member of Commissioned? It was from 1991-1996. Here is Commissioned with a favorite hymn of mine, along with the lyrics below:
1. ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”
* Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!
2. Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
3. Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
4. I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

Award-winning gospel singer Walter Hawkins dies

RIPON, Calif. — Walter Hawkins, a Grammy Award-winning gospel singer, composer and pastor from Oakland, died Sunday. He was 61.

Hawkins, who was battling pancreatic cancer, passed away at his home in Ripon, Calif., his older brother Edwin Hawkins said.

"Today, I lost my brother, my pastor, and my best friend," said Edwin Hawkins. "Bishop Hawkins suffered bravely but now he will suffer no more and he will be greatly missed."

Born in Oakland, Hawkins studied for his divinity degree at the University of California, Berkeley.

While at the university, he recorded his first album titled "Do Your Best" in 1972.

The next year, Hawkins became a pastor and founded the Love Center Church in Oakland, where he also formed a choir.

Michael Jackson Man In The Mirror (Moonwalker Version)

June 25, 2009: Today, June 25, 2010, is the first anniversary of Michael's demise. Who would have thought it two years ago? Except for his music, it's a sad memory like a sweet smelling vapor.

This From Our Lips Straight To The Heart of God!

There is something about a child's innocence, purity and openness that is compelling because it speaks to the heart of God. Notice how this child is all of that and spiritual, too! At the end of the prayer he is aware enough to open his hand and let the prayer fly to God, as if he is saying to the universe, "So be it!" --Thanks to Nancy Smith, a Facebook friend.
