Breast cancer really cuts to the heart of a woman's identity. Janae Veal is a good example.
At 30, she was a fitness model who wanted to show the world how to be really strong but still feminine. Cancer changed her body, and took away her hair.
But Veal was determined it would not steal her belief she could still be beautiful.
"Today is my last chemo session. Woo hoo! I'm excited. I'm excited for the rest of my journey," said Janae Veal.

Legendary gospel artists Rance Allen Group have earned four Stellar Awards — that's gospel music's answer to the Grammy Awards — for their album "The Live Experience II: Celebrating 40 Years of Music and Ministry." The music was recorded at Detroit's Greater Grace Church. The 27th annual Stellar Awards will take place Jan. 14, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.

The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975
Currently shown at Royal Oak's Main Art Theater. The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 mobilizes a treasure trove of 16mm material shot by Swedish journalists who came to the U.S. drawn by stories of urban unrest and revolution. Gaining access to many of the leaders of the Black Power Movement—Stokely Carmichael, Bobby Seale, Angela Davis and Eldridge Cleaver among them—the filmmakers captured them in intimate moments and remarkably unguarded interviews. Thirty years later, this lush collection was found languishing in the basement of Swedish Television. Director Göran Olsson and co-producer Danny Glover bring this footage to light in a mosaic of images, music and narration chronicling the evolution one of our nation's most indelible turning points, the Black Power movement. Music by Questlove and Om'Mas Keith, and commentary from prominent African-American artists and activists who were influenced by the struggle—including Erykah Badu, Harry Belafonte, Talib Kweli, and Melvin Van Peebles—give the historical footage a fresh, contemporary resonance and makes the film an exhilarating, unprecedented account of an American revolution. Featuring music by The Roots and Michael Jackson.
